Overview

Meet is Huddle01's video meeting app, used by more than 200,000 people for 1.8 million meetings. I designed it end to end, from the core call to scheduling, business tools, livestreaming, mobile, and onboarding. As the feature set grew, the job was to protect the speed and familiarity of joining a meeting.

Keep the core familiar

The People panel is grouped by role (Host, Co-hosts, Speakers, then everyone else), not alphabetically. In a large room the first question is who is running it. Mute Everyone and the room lock sit in the panel header, so host controls live where a host is already looking, and the call bar stays the same six buttons for every participant.

Move management outside the room

Dashboard Home opens on your personal room link and a Start button, above scheduling and above the upgrade card, because most visits are to start or share a call. Meeting logs record how each person signed in: email, wallet, or guest. Hosts of token-gated rooms need to tell those apart, and a generic attendee list would have hidden it.

Reveal depth only when needed

Recording, livestreaming, and virtual backgrounds open as side panels over the call, and the RTMP form puts a “How to get?” link beside the stream key field. The same rule shaped mobile and onboarding: keep the first path obvious, then reveal more as the task demands it.

Outcome

Meet grew from a single call screen into web, iOS, Android, paid plans, and livestreaming, with the core controls still where people expect them.
